Week 11

Hello & Welcome to week 11!
This week is all about Halloween & different sizes. We will be do a variety of activities this week that help us understand the terms "bigger/smaller" and will also be celebrating Halloween!!

Monday: Introducing sizes
  • Making different size paper balls to fill a pumpkin bag
  • Halloween pictures in sequence from biggest to smallest etc.
  • Clean out pumpkins
Tuesday: Work on sorting candy by big and small
  • Using different sizes of crepe paper, decorate paper pumpkins
  • Make a shape witch
  • Sort candy and chart favorites
Wednesday: HAPPY HALLOWEEN
  • Using tweezers, put foam items into ice cube trays
  • Make a bead & pipecleaner pumpkin
  • Make trail mix
  • HAVE A PARTY!
  • Watch "The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"
Thursday: Dinosaurs & being enormous
  • Dinosaur names with magnetic letters
  • Dinosaur picture puzzles
  • Dinosaur smartboard game

This week we are working on the letter Ii, the color WHITE and the numbers 6-10, specifically 8. Below are links to all of the videos we will be using during circle time:

Week 10 - Friendship

Hello & Welcome to week 10!
This week is all about our friendship. We will be do a variety of activities this week that help us understand what makes a friend and how to make friends.
 
Monday: Understanding what a friend is
  • Friendship quilt
  • Matching folder game with our friends in class
  • Play "Ants in the Pants" game
Tuesday: Talk about who our friends are at school
  • Make noodle necklaces for a friend
  • Draw a picture for a friend
  • Play with our friends and work on sharing 
Wednesday: Do you have a pet?

  • Work with magnetic letters to make pet words
  • Charting our favorite pets
  • Sorting pets by color, size, number of legs and type of animal 
Thursday: NO SCHOOL - PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES

Week 9

Hello & Welcome to week 9!
This week is all about our community. We will be do a variety of activities this week that help us understand who lives in our community and what services there are. 

Monday: Understanding who lives in our neighborhood
  • Paint pumpkins
  • Work with playdoh to make words fire, police officer, doctor
  • Color safety slogans
Tuesday: Fire Safety & Community Helpers Day
  • Visiting different stations: EMT's, Fire truck, Fire house, Police officer, Dental Height & weight screenings

Wednesday: Who provides a service?
  • Painting pumpkins
  • Pretend to be a playdoh baker
  • Coloring food services pictures

Thursday: Who helps us learn?
  • Letter Gg pipe cleaner letters
  • Play red light, green light & simon says
